My vision with yoga is to make it accessible to all who feel the pull towards the practice. My intent is for yoga to be financially available to all and for all to be welcomed despite any personal circumstance or hardship. Because of this, i will always have one free or donation based class available.

Private yoga lessons are also available. For further information please contact lunallenawellness@gmail.com

This class will introduce the students to the beginning poses of the primary series of Ashtanga yoga, a set sequence or routine of postures designed to bring strength, flexibility and endurance to the body. This type of yoga is challenging, quick paced with a lot of movement and repetition. The constant moving and repetition will keep your body warm, enable you to get deeper into poses, work your muscles and quiet the mind. Be prepared to sweat a lot as you engage core muscles and work with a steady balanced breath, moving through Ashtangas moving meditation in motion. Please bring a yoga mat and a blanket.

This class and space allows for a unique path of healing. Yoga allows for survivors to regain a sense of comfort and ease within ones body, mind and spirit. The program allows for survivors to become reacquainted with their bodies and allows and facilitates a powerful transformation with the relationship with the body. In the midst of healing from a traumatic event, and often for years and decades after, the body can feel like an enemy. We may feel like we are being held hostage in our own bodies and our bodies no longer feel like our own. Through yoga, we get our bodies back and in time the body is no longer frozen, no longer a container of fear and tension, but in fact a powerful, highly intelligent and highly sensitive tool to move us both through and beyond the memory of the deepest pain. Each class offers survivors a safe space facilitated by empowerment based language to gain greater awareness around strength, stability, boundaries, assertiveness and mindfulness.
